I love this idea of making a set of silhouettes based on photos of friends or family.
This piece by artist Hadley Hutton reminds me of an illustration from an old book of fairytales.
I just bought David Fullarton’s self-published book on Blurb, and his edgy, lopsided sense of humor made me a fan. Find his website here.
I’m looking forward to Karen Maitland’s forthcoming mystery/novel, The Owl Killers, because it’s set in a medieval Beguinage, which was a convent or uncloistered spiritual commune for lay women who sought to serve God without taking permanent vows or necessarily renouncing the possibility of marriage. I’m fascinated by the Beguines and their eventual persecution under the Inquisition, and I hope the novel doesn’t disappoint!

We all want to be the cool girl!
Jane Reiseger is an Australian illustrator I found while browsing Design for Mankind. I could look at her journals all day. Also check out the nursery mural she did for a French mom — it makes you feel cozy, safe and happy.
